Comprehensive undergraduate admissions consulting:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I aim to minimize the stress from the admissions process for both students and parents, while maximizing opportunities for success at decision time.  At this highly charged point of a student\u2019s life, having a knowledgeable third party to help navigate the process can be a gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beginning in the spring of junior year, we discuss the student\u2019s background, both academic and extracurricular. We collect academic materials and reports, including transcripts, test scores, an in-depth questionnaire, and an interview with the student.  The student\u2019s candidacy is assessed, and we discuss goals, aspirations, and target schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A timeline is made to help keep the student on track and ensure there is not a time crunch at the end of the process.  This is flexible to start, as preferences for early decision and early action schools may change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We discuss essay topics as an opportunity to add value to an application, and the main personal statement is completed in the spring and summer.  Using shared documents online, several stages of revision and editing help to produce the strongest essay for that particular student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will discuss several school options including programs and reach, target, and safety school choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the application list is finalized in the fall, supplemental essays are completed, as well as comprehensive application review and advice offered, to round out the applications and create a cohesive and compelling package for the student, maximizing their chances of acceptance at their target schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

College coaching:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a student in their 9th or 10th grade year, I offer a coaching service. I collect academic materials and reports, including transcripts, test scores, and graded samples of work. An interview with the parents is scheduled, followed by an interview with the student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The student’s candidacy is assessed, and a written report is presented to the family. It includes, from an admissions standpoint, an assessment of the student’s progress thus far, strengths, challenges, and concrete suggestions to strengthen that student’s admissions profile by their senior year.
